Standing outside of the Dayton Foodbank is an eight-foot-tall apple made from thousands of knives, forks, and spoons, funded by a grant from the Montgomery County Solid Waste District. In ancient mythology, the apple is one of the most sacred trees and symbolizes good health, future happiness and a place of rest and shelter. How appropriate for this to be outside of a place that feeds people.
