vessel {may 19, 2022}

Vessel  is a structure and visitor attraction built as part of the Hudson Yards (between Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen). This interactive art piece was imagined by the British designer Thomas Heatherwick. The elaborate honeycomb-like structure rises 16 stories and consists of 154 flights of stairs, 2,500 steps, and 80 landings for visitors to climb. Vessel is the focal point where people can enjoy new perspectives and remarkable views of the city and river.


Vessel is now closed due to four suicides. 



Taking a photo from this angle reminded me of picture-taking at The Bean in Chicago, getting the reflective view from below.

As seen from the inside looking out. Neiman-Marcus is no longer at Hudson Yards. Things change and time marches on...
