This sweet boy is recovering from ACL surgery and walks are limited to 15-20 minutes, 3-4 times a day.
Bernie guides me on his usual route, up the street, right turn, and to the park where his sniffing and peeing routines go full throttle. We stroll along the railroad tracks, past the community garden plots, watch the busy bees gather last bits of pollen from the coneflowers in the pollinator garden, marvel at the coolest railroad sign, and finally watch the black squirrels romp around the yards and hang out in the trees. Walking a dog on a lovely fall day truly is a lesson in the simplicities of happiness.
