cleaning, dining, sighing {october 11, 2021}

After a day of helping my son clean his townhome for its new owner, the thought of fixing dinner doesn’t generate any enthusiasm but the thought of going out to dinner sure does. T and I head to the Wine Bistro in hopes of sitting on the outdoor patio, but no luck with that. A large group has occupied the entire patio.

Nonetheless, dining indoors was just lovely. Such a comfortable ambiance, like you’re dining in someone’s country home. You can order wine by the glass or else browse the shelves of wine, ordered by country, and choose a bottle (or two…) to drink at your table. We chose a salad and a flatbread pizza for dinner along with a bottle of Sancerre. Simple but satisfying.

We get back home, settle on the couch to watch NCIS. At the end of the show and after nearly two decades, Leroy Jethro Gibbs tells Agent McGee that has found his peace in Alaska and is hanging up his badge. Gibbs Rule 11: When the job is done, walk away.

Sigh...gonna miss you, Gibbs.
