Fen: low land covered wholly or partially with water; boggy land; a marsh.
The Woodman Fen lies inside Dayton's city limits. It's a "fen-ominal" 33 acre natural wetland ecosystem containing thick deposits of peats and supporting many rare and unusual plants. Its restoration has included planting hundreds of native wetland plants and is currently upgrading the boardwalk.
I love a boardwalk through wetlands, a good swamp.
