Labor Day weekend…the official end of summer.
Whether you’re cooking on the grill, attending a parade, or going to your favorite farmer’s market, the conversation inevitably turns to the end of summer.
At the farm:
“How much longer do you think you’ll have tomatoes?”
“Until the first frost.”
“Really?”
“Yes!”
Pumpkins and mums just showed up at the farm and people are already buying them. People have returned from their summer vacations, kids are back in school, pumpkin spice is gaining steam, and some people have already started their Christmas countdowns. C’mon people…three weeks left in summer. Me, I’m going to own every last day of summer until the equinox shows up on September 23.
The change of seasons, pays little attention to the calendar.
