waxing crescent moon

It was Thursday around 6:00. the sun was sinking quickly, and the waxing crescent moon and Venus shined in the new evening sky. We were taking our waste bins out for the Friday morning pick up when I told Todd, "I need to get my camera." The first crescent moon of 2025.

Thursday morning, I went to yoga and the instructor shared some information about the waxing crescent moon. This moon phase is considered a phase that brings about change and creates new opportunities. It's perfect for the start of a new year. It's often referred to as the rebuilding phase. Once the moon has re-emerged with new energy, it's the perfect time to set new intentions for the month ahead and work on self-improvement. (New Year's resolutions, anyone?) As the Moon grows in the sky, it’s time for us to grow too and to use the increasing energy to focus on our dreams and desires.

  1. I could use a new start, or at least something to give me a push as I have been slowing down too much!

    1. The new year is tough. It's a new beginning and we want to make changes or do something different. But it's also winter and we want to hibernate.

  2. A great moon as we walked across to the community center last evening, and it was snowing 2 hours earlier.

    1. Yes, I saw the moon, too, from my Ohio backyard and it was beautiful.

  3. Great shot of the moon and Venus. A friend of mine is in California right now and she sent a photo of the moon with Venus too. So I've had two sightings this morning. That must mean something good.

  4. Oddly, I saw the same image in my sky while taking the dumpster out to the street. (Call Rod Serling!)

    1. I love that regardless of where we live, we can look at the sky and see the same image.
