fairy gardens {august 16, 2022}

During the pandemic shutdown, parents had to find a lot of at-home activities to keep their children busy. On walks around the neighborhood in 2020, there were a lot of chalk art displays on the sidewalks and driveways, lots of painted rocks scattered in parks and gardens, and little fairy gardens that found homes beside trees and under bushes.

Fairy gardens, aka enchanted gardens, are miniature gardens filled with magic. Depending on your demeanor, it could be easy to be dismissive about them, but take one look at these gardens and I dare you not to smile. They are charming, the detail and devotion to its creation is engaging, and if it has this effect on adults, just think how captivating they are for children! The imagination and creativity that goes into composing one of these knows no bounds.

It's summertime 2022, the kids have been out of school since the end of May,  enchanted gardens have popped up around the neighborhood, and they are delightful! Maybe these little displays aren't placed to impress us but maybe to impress upon us just how beautiful life is.
