Today Sheetz, the restaurant and convenience chain, is celebrating July 4th by dropping the price of their gas to $1.776 to commemorate the year the Declaration of Independence was signed.
The lines are long and traffic is backing up. We thought about getting into the holiday spirit but no thank you. Instead we found gas for $2.87. We would have saved $15.00 at Sheetz but I'm guessing it would have taken over an hour to get to the pump.
As we drove along Interstates 71 and 70, it was obvious which exits had a Sheetz. Vehicles lined the exit ramps and overpasses. Wonder what the lines were like when the pumps opened at midnight and into the wee hours of the morning?

And another stat for another 4th of July tradition...sure isn't apple pie!
They bought a lot of good will and publicity with this one.
