"orange" you glad it's sunday? {november 7, 2021}

It's a quiet Sunday...first child is coming over for dinner and I need to figure out what to put on the table.

I still have quite a few butternut squashes. I've offered them to friends but come to find out, people like them but no one wants them because they're a pain to cut up. Yes, they are a pain but I really don't mind prepping them, especially after sharpening my knife. Makes all the difference in the world.

The soup is easy: butternut squash, onion, a few white potatoes, roasted garlic pureed with chicken broth and a little bit of Half and half, seasoned with adobo and cumin. No recipe with amounts here: I just eyeball the consistency and taste to adjust the seasoning. And it's ORANGE!

Today is football Sunday and the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals are playing in The Battle of Ohio, Part 1. Cleveland, whose colors are ORANGE and brown, is on Ohio's northern border on Lake Erie, travels to Cincinnati, whose colors are ORANGE and black, is on Ohio's southern border on the Ohio River. Half the state will get their bragging rights today. The other half will have to wait until January 9, 2022, for the Part 2 rematch in Cleveland. Brrrr...that one just chills my bones. January in Cleveland and the stadium is right on Lake Erie.

The orange of the Cleveland Browns is victorious in Part 1 of The Battle of Ohio.

Final score: 41-16...WOOHOO!
