City sidewalks, busy sidewalks, dressed in holiday style...
Wow, 60 years of "A Charlie Brown Christmas." It's a holiday favorite.
Another pretty Christmas tree along Fifth Avenue.
Pete's Tavern, New York's oldest continuously operating tavern and bar in NYC. Every year on November 1, the owner begins decorating the tavern. It's Christmas on steroids.
And while at Pete's, one must try its seasonal special, homemade eggnog.
A Christmas tree grows in Gramercy Park. The Chrysler Building with its pretty Art Deco architecture is in the background illuminated by the sunset.
The Waldorf Hotel has been closed for a few years but has now re-opened. It's been beautifully refurbished and it's so nice to see the clock still in its lobby.
Wish I was there,
ReplyDeleteIt is magical at Christmas time.
DeleteOh my gosh, I'm so glad to see the clock back at the Waldorf. I got to stay at the Waldorf back in the spring of 2002. Tourism in the city was way down and the Waldorf offered an incredible deal on rooms. That was a great experience. I haven't been to NYC since it reopened. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteIt really is magical. I lived briefly in New York City the year I turned 19, deciding whether to return to San Francisco or stay in NYC. I did return to SF, a city I loved, but I sometimes wonder about the "other" life I might have had.
