“May the Force Be With You” is a famous quote said by numerous characters as an expression of good luck throughout the Star Wars film series. It made its first appearance in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, and has gained cult status among the fans. "May the Force Be with You" served as an inspiration for Star Wars Day, an unofficial holiday observed in honor of the franchise on May 4th. The annual holiday is celebrated with the catchphrase May the 4th Be With You.
Todd and I met in college and the first time he came to Dayton for a summertime visit, we went to see the first Star Wars movie. We got to the cinema and bought our tickets, stood in a very long line, and when we got inside the theater, we could not find two side-by-side seats. We had to sit apart. To this day, we still laugh about that date.
I am one of the few adults out age, who didn't see the star wars movies.
ReplyDeleteI have seen most of them but I'm not a Star Wars geek.
DeleteI remember going to see the first Star Wars film with my then boyfriend and being totally enthralled .
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time in a galaxy far, far away...I loved that opening sequence. I really enjoyed the movie, too.
DeleteI have fond memories of seeing the movie for the first time. I also stood in a long, long line to get in but when those very first words started rolling across the screen it was simply thrilling.
