Today, March 14, aka 3/14, celebrates Pi, 3.1415926535...
Someone, perhaps a creative math teacher or an English teacher with a mathematical mind, created a genre of poetry specific to March 14 and designated it as Pi-ku. Pretty clever to play on the haiku genre.
Haiku is a three line poem following a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. Pi-ku is a three line poem and follows a 3-1-4 syllable pattern.
March 14th
it’s
geek Thanksgiving.
That would only work over here? 🤭
ReplyDeleteAfter I published this, I thought about you and remembered that Europeans use the date/month/year format, as do my many friends who are in the military. I believe month/date/year is almost exclusive to the the US.

DeleteWhat a great post! You've reminded me somewhat of a show I recently watched on Apple+ called "Prime Target". It was all about mathematical research into prime numbers.
ReplyDeleteThose kinds of shows are so interesting. Doesn't it make you wonder how people think of these things and then figure them out?
DeleteI missed it but was reminded by one of my elves.
